This is What I Know (or Think I Know at Least)
We're far more alike than we are different.
My life is better the more diverse group of people I choose to spend my time with.
Honesty & vulnerability, although scary, always lead to meaningful connections & interactions with other.
A smile can brighten someone's day.
Joy is my favorite feeling in the world.
My most joyful memories have all came after some sort of hardship or struggle.
The small, quiet voice that nudges me is my most trusted friend. It pushes me to pursue love. It pushes me to apologize when I mess up. It pushes me to keep going when I feel like I just can't even anymore.
Hearing my kids laugh is the most beautiful sound in the world.
My most impactful spiritual experiences happen when I'm out in nature & make space to pause.
When I get overwhelmed all I have to do is sit & breath & repeat until I'm not overwhelmed anymore. That's one of the few things I have control over. Feeling overwhelmed? Just breathe along to this little animation.
My wife loves me & inspires me to be a better human every day. And she's the most beautiful woman in the world.
The best BBQ in the world comes from a gas station in Kansas.
A hug given is better than a hug withheld.
I have something unique and beautiful to offer this world. So do you. Let's share our unique and beautiful gifts with the world.
Kindness > Rightness. (I'm going to be slower to speak and quicker to apologize when I get caught up in rightness over kindness)
The front lines of love need us right now, and always have.
I'm sure there are a few other things I know, but really, I'm just making this stuff up as I go along, so I could be wrong on some things from time to time. But I'm free to just make more stuff up, and that's ok, too. Thanks goes to Brian Andreas for teaching me that.
Stay kind out there, my friends.
