Namaste

Namaste. I've always been fascinated by this word. My friend Natalie Norton closes all of her talks with Namaste. Almost every single yoga class I've ever attended closes with it as well. It's such a beautiful and calming word.
NamasteNama means bow, as means I, and te means you. Therefore, namaste literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you."
I've also heard the definition as "The Spirit within me salutes the Spirit in you."

I like to think we're all infused with a Divine energy or love. We were created with love. We were created to love. We were created for love. Love is the highest energy that exists. Love is a power we'll never fully grasp in this lifetime, and when given freely, leads to so many  miracles.

Unfortunately, at some point, in each of our lives, we get hurt, and we start to forget that love. I wrote about how much weight our brains put on negative feelings before. We get bombarded with thousands of messages that say the exact opposite of love. We hear of so many tragic stories sometimes it's just hard to remember all the love that lives inside and around us.

And I can't lie and say I don't get swept up in that mess from time to time. It's easier to go with the flow than to step out with a whole different message. I only bring this up, because I've been realizing lately how much better I feel when I express feelings of positivity and love, both to myself and others. I have more energy. My kids are happier around me. Life just FEELS better when I spread love.

So I'm embracing the Namaste life. "The Spirit within me salutes the Spirit in you." It doesn't matter what religion you practice or what God you choose to believe in or not believe in. The Spirit within me salutes the Spirit within you. Everyone has GOOD inside of them. I'm tired of focusing on the negative. I'm tired of judging others. I'm tired of acting out of fear and jealousy.

I'm going to make a conscious effort to acknowledge the good in all people. We are all unique & splendidly perfect, just the way we are. I want to acknowledge that in YOU.

Namaste.
